How to make money with leech and earhworms?

I read in today's newspaper,NST.
Anyone with experience here?
We should encourage Indians to venture into this business since it is still new and the prospect is there.

i caught alot of earthworms when I was a primary kid at the back of my house to go fishing.... does that experience count?

i think can... u go back to the same place .... catch the earthworms as much as u can and choose a strategic fishing place and sell the earthworms...!!!

well....the earthworms are for producing organic fertilizer not for fishing though....

No idea how much is a kg of a earthworms but the leeches are a few hundreds a kg.

Now i'm in midst of gathering information.

mmmm.... sounds good to me. First you gather the info, next we will meet up and gather the earthworms and leeches.

My wife nearly vomitted when I mentioned about this "new" biz venture though.

This is a private venture admin, hence we will need to "charge" you for joining in.... maybe you have to catch all the worms and the leeches. We will tell you the locations though.... heheh

the leeches are sold for a ringgit each..if let say u catch few hundred leeches a day you are going to make five figure income a month

To rear leech, we need to buy baby leeches and wait for six months before we harvest.

From the research i'm doing now....you'll need around 20k to start first. But the return is guaranteed.

Now this business is conquered by Malays. One of my friend, a malay ,told me that his products(the leeches) are fully booked the moment he started to rear.

He just have to give a call once his leeches are ready. The buyer would come and do the harvesting themselves. cool huh?

I was watching tv today noon and i came accross a programme which was showing a segment where a beautician uses leech on a woman's face to cure "resdung" and according to her letting the leech suck blood from your face from time to time would make you look youthful.

Breeding leeches is indeed a good business.

Yeap.....that is what i'm hearing from those involved in this venture.
About the return, i'm not sure. My friend told me that it depends on how you take care of your leeches. You'll be able to see some money after 6 months once you start selling the leeches. A small pond contains a few kilogrammes of leeches...around RM 1,000 more or less. A small leech farm usually has at least 10 ponds.

All these info are hear-say. I don't have a prove. I have to trust my friends.

the qovt is conducting training n consultations asking natanz to start this biz.

one of d guy at my workplace is doing it part time. heard that good income.

Here some info i took from internet. This biz is very good coz my friend earning a huge amount every month. 90% at this moment doing by malay. Hope indian do this biz soon.

Komponen penting dalam hasilkan produk kecantikan, kesihatan dan perubatan

SEBELUM ini, lintah sering diberi pandangan negatif
ekoran tabiatnya yang menghisap darah sehingga wujud peribahasa ‘lintah
darat’ bagi menggambarkan orang yang tidak berhati perut dan sering
menindas orang lain.

Kini, persepsi terhadap lintah semakin berubah yang
mana haiwan itu tidak lagi `digeruni’ malah dicari di merata tempat dan
diternak kerana mampu memberikan pulangan lumayan kepada pengusahanya.

Ia berikutan kajian menunjukkan haiwan itu boleh
menjadi komponen penting dalam menghasilkan produk kecantikan,
penjagaan kesihatan dan perubatan sekali gus memastikan lintah mendapat
permintaan tinggi di pasaran.

Menyedari faktor itu, Roziana Abu Hassan, 34,
bersama suami, Mohd Jantan Abu Hassan, 36, dan ibunya, Rahidah Wahid,
50, sanggup mengeluarkan modal permulaan sebanyak RM30,000 untuk
mengusahakan ternakan lintah.

Mereka memulakan usaha itu kira-kira lima bulan lalu
dengan membina enam kolam dengan setiap satunya berukuran 18 meter x 6
meter di Kampung Telok Mas, Selama, Perak.

Roziana berkata, beliau mengetahui mengenai potensi
lintah untuk menjana pendapatan selepas terbaca di dalam akhbar
mengenai kursus ternakan haiwan itu yang dianjurkan Art Soulist Sdn Bhd
iaitu syarikat pengeluar dan pengedar produk berasaskan kecantikan dan
kesihatan.

“Ketika mengikuti kursus itu, saya diberitahu bahawa
setiap satu kolam yang boleh menghasilkan kira-kira 100 kilogram
lintah, mampu memberi pulangan sekurang-kurangnya RM6,000 bagi setiap
tempoh pusingan pembiakannya selama empat bulan.

“Ia berdasarkan harga pembelian RM60 sekilogram yang
ditawarkan syarikat berkenaan. Bagaimanapun, baru-baru ini ada pembeli
dari Singapura yang berminat untuk membeli pada harga RM150 sekilogram
sekali gus menunjukkan permintaannya yang tinggi di pasaran sekarang,”
katanya ketika ditemui di sini, baru-baru ini.

Beliau berkata, lintah yang diternaknya itu dijangka
sudah boleh dijual mulai bulan depan iaitu selepas enam bulan ia
dibiakkan dalam enam kolamnya itu. Katanya, walaupun lintah sudah boleh
dijual selepas empat bulan ia diternak, untuk peringkat permulaan ia
memerlukan tempoh lebih panjang bagi membolehkan ‘induk’ atau ‘ibu’
lintah membiakkan lebih banyak benihnya untuk memastikan kitaran hidup
haiwan itu dalam sesuatu kolam berterusan.

Beliau berkata, haiwan itu perlu dijual segera
apabila sudah dewasa kerana jangka hayatnya adalah pendek iaitu antara
tujuh hingga lapan bulan saja sebelum dia mati.
“Bagi memastikan penyelenggaraan yang baik dan kos
operasi kolam berkenaan, saya juga membuat pinjaman bank sebanyak
RM10,000,” katanya yang turut memiliki perniagaan pembungkusan sarung
tangan menerusi syarikat miliknya bersama suami, Terap Jaya Enterprise

I think this is a short term business untill the next happening thing.
The booming effect will go off after some time but those putting the efford can make money.

cause....if this goes on....I think the world will end because of leeches..lol...
there'll be too many leeches...and to overcome tht...we have to start another booming business...and it'll go on a chain...

its ok if the business chain continues.

Anyway, it is easy to venture into this business if you're in a remote area not for those in metropolitan cities.
