PROPER ATTIRE TO TEMPLE

I went to a temple near my mothers place last week...... this is a very small temple and managed by ppl living around that area.... they had "vilaku poojai".. ..... so i join the poojai... as i rushed there after work.... i only manage to wear a punjabi suit (green & black).

As they were abt to start the poojai... the priest ask for my name.... and told me....pls wear saree for this type of poojai and pls dun wear black colour. i told him sorry and explain to him as y i had worn the punjabi suit... so he said in future to wear saree.

I also saw few of the temple commity members informing certain girls who was wearing some transparent / fashionable saree and punjabi suits.

After the prayers... they also annnounce of the proper attire and the importance of wearing it.

This is refreshing news. I can see a glimmer of hope here.
Other temple authorities should emulate this action.

haha....u have a point there boy....nowadays saree comes with all kinda windos...sliding doors....and all tht...the thing is...even grannies are wearing it...lol...it's just disgusting....

Don't insult saree....there is a way to tie saree very decently...In India...women tie saree everyday to work and so on.....they look very decent without exposing anything.

It is our young generation who failed to tie saree in a proper way. Most of them opt for very transparent sarees over cotton or kanchipuram.

not insulting thats my personal view..if see a girl wearing saree give her more sexy appearance than being in punjabi suit

my opinion is temple is a place of worship and divine. there is no need to give priority on fashion. Some think it is cool to wear sexy saree to temple. for some it is ok to wear sexy saree. first of all, what is the purpose of wearing sexy saree to temple? from my view, it doesn't serve any purpose. please correct me if wrong.

when buddha did his meditation to find the truth of life, DEVILs tried to disturb his search of truth. they came in many temptation form and one of it is sexy girls.

so in my opinion, those wearing sexy is same race as the DEVIL in the buddha search for truth.

For guys, let's be buddha

for some girls, try not to be devil:)

you did mention about the black colour. you said that they said black is not allowed. i am against this culture.

first of all, we need to ask ourselves. we say God is ultimate good rep. if he is perfectly good, why in the first place he wants to create black if it is a "suey" color or bad color. then can we say god is not perfect??? and he has bad intention to bring bad luck onto human??

from my point of view, every god's creation has their ultimate purpose and goodness.

is nuclear black in colour? are all criminals black in color? are those own black car meet accident every second? are those wearing black to office constantly get fired?

i dont see any logic behind telling black is a bad color. if black color is bad, then blackmafia is worst:)

Yankee... the priest did ask the ladies to take end of the pallu "mundhani which is on our left and cover it at the side where stomach can be seen.

I mean pull the mundhani from back and tuck in at left side.

the priest told me not wear black color as i was doing the "vilaku poojai"... this poojai is done by ladies for the vilaku for their families happiness, wealth & prosperity... Vilaku is goddess Mahalakshmi for that poojai....

According to the priest ... when a lady perfoms this vilaku poojai ... she should look "lakshmi kadacham".... so that y he ask us to tie our hair, wear saree, put the kungumam pottu, put flowers before we start the poojai.

The commity did not announce after the prayers "not to wear black colours". They only mention abt sexy, transparent attires.

sure or not?anyway for me black or white its just a matter of color

the perception of colour which i mentioned not only in temple but most of the place. alot of indians think that black colour is unlucky to wear. it is a color of death and unlucky. so i merely highlighted this problemo....hehehehehhe

sabhaaaa....at least someone found out the true characteristics of a man...we'r as good as buddha.....but blacka anna...devil aluga iruntha parevale.....some looks like shakeela maddam in bikini....lol...IT HURTS MY EYES !!!.......these days...I can c the man are wearing proper attire...but ladies ??....guess they have a wide range of variety....wht to do....wht to doooo.....

agree hurts my eyes too. what to do? it is all in the game......

parents should educate the girls and guys bro....parents should take the lead in telling the girls which is no-no and which is allowed. hopefully parents will take action soon.
