Require info regarding tamil school

Tue Sep 10, 2013 8:52 pm by Positivevibe

I just moved from Chennai, I am looking for admission for my 6 year old kid.
After my extensive search, understand that I can place my kid only in international school, as both of us are holding only professional visa.

Can someone suggest me, if there is any private or tamil school which will admit foreign national?

Do you send your kids to private tuition after school or do you teach them yourselves? What are the pros and cons of sending kids to private tuition after school? Is it an unnecessary burden for the kids or is it seen as much needed assistance for the kids in terms of education?

Now the website is empty.

Private School

Tue Sep 09, 2008 11:41 pm by VJeyaa

Can someone from the education line give me some pointers about private schooling? I have been thinking about this recently as my daughter has come of enrollment age to the primary school. My current considerations are:

1. Sekolah Sri Murni

Re: Riddle to solve

Post by mirugam on Fri Dec 05, 2008 11:16 am

FRENS.......TRY SOLVING THIS....

There are two lengths of rope.
Each one can burn in exactly one hour.
They are not necessarily of the same length or width as each other.
They also are not of uniform width (may be wider in middle than on the end), thus burning half of the rope is not necessarily 1/2 hour.

By burning the ropes, how do you measure exactly 45 minutes worth of time?

Re: Riddle to solve

Post by VJeyaa on Fri Dec 05, 2008 12:42 pm

Since we have established that each rope burns in exactly 1 hour and other parameters are unknown like width, thickness, length etc, then the closest assumption would be to assume that if you burnt the rope from both ends, it will halve the burn time, i.e 30 mins to burn the rope fully. With this info as the foundation we can use this as the basis to set the burn time.
1. Light both ends of the first rope and only one end of the other rope.
2. When the first rope finished burning, yiou know that time taken = 30 mins.
3. Now you know that at the same time the other rope which is burning from only one end also has another 30 mins to go, so now you burn the other end of the rope also. Since both ends are burning now, the time of 30 mins will be halved to 15 mins.
4. 30 mins + 15 mins = 45 mins.
5. Solved.
